چکیده
Klebsiella pneumoniae has considered as a relevant healthcare-associated pathogen, its risk of infections is increasing in the presence medical devices. K. known for ability to form biofilm on biotic and abiotic surfaces. Biofilm assists bacterial protection from host immune responses antibiotics. Hypervirulent (hvKp) emerges new pathotype, which first appeared Asian Pacific Rim but spread globally. Thus, this study aimed investigate including hvKp potential isolates biofilm. One hundred were collected different hospitals Baghdad city. These identified by phenotypic characterization selective agar plates, biochemical tests, VITEK II, molecular identification. formation was tested these two methods, congo red Tissue Culture Plate method. In method, 33% producer (63%) can TCP method divided as: 14% strong, 15 moderate, 34% weak, 37% non-biofilm producer. The showed variable classical pneumoniae.

Hypervirulent (hypermucoviscous) Klebsiella pneumoniae
A new hypervirulent (hypermucoviscous) variant of Klebsiella pneumoniae has emerged. First described in the Asian Pacific Rim, it now increasingly recognized in Western countries. Defining clinical features are the ability to cause serious, life-threatening community-acquired infection in younger healthy hosts, including liver abscess, pneumonia, meningitis and endophthalmitis and the ability t...
متن کاملHypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae
Hypervirulent strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae are associated with abscess formation, commonly hepatic, and metastatic spread, even in healthy patients. We describe a case of this clinical syndrome, genotypic and phenotypic features of the isolate, and briefly review epidemiology, clinical manifestations, and pathogenesis of this underappreciated syndrome.

UNLABELLED Highly invasive, community-acquired Klebsiella pneumoniae infections have recently emerged, resulting in pyogenic liver abscesses. These infections are caused by hypervirulent K. pneumoniae (hvKP) isolates primarily of capsule serotype K1 or K2. Hypervirulent K1 isolates belong to clonal complex 23 (CC23), indicating that this clonal lineage has a specific genetic background conferri...

Background: Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the most important bacteria that cause nosocomial infections. This opportunistic pathogen has a high potential for antibiotic resistance and can generate a thick layer of biofilm. Nowadays, antibiotic resistant strains are emerging and widely spreading worldwide. Thus, it is necessary to combat drug-resistant strains through the use of novel drugs (su...
متن کاملAntibiotic Resistance Related to Biofilm Formation in Klebsiella pneumoniae
The Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen, Klebsiella pneumoniae, is responsible for causing a spectrum of community-acquired and nosocomial infections and typically infects patients with indwelling medical devices, especially urinary catheters, on which this microorganism is able to grow as a biofilm. The increasingly frequent acquisition of antibiotic resistance by K. pneumoniae strains has gi...
